Motomachi Park is a park that was landscaped in 1454 and has been selected as one of the "100 Best Historical Parks in Japan". Located at the foot of Mt. Hakodate, you can overlook the port of Hakodate and the cityscape of Hakodate. The old Hakodate Ward Public Hall and the former British Consulate of Hakodate, which are tourist attractions in Hakodate, are nearby. The former Hokkaido Government Hakodate Branch Office in the park is used as a tourist information center. The monument to Admiral Perry's arrival, the ruins of the former Hakodate Magistrate's Office, and the statue of Haikara-san are scattered around.
